Full Root-level Access
What does the full root-level access option imply? What benefits will it bestow you with? How to sign in to your server as root?
Having root-level access to your server signifies that you will be able to view and modify any file on it, including important system files. You can also install software which can update particular settings on your server during the process, so the installation can be performed only if you are signed in as the root user. The latter has full privileges, i.e. you will have full control over your machine at any time and you will be able to do anything you want. You may also create additional users either with identical rights or with fewer rights, depending on what you need them for - day-to-day tasks, other server admins, etcetera. To be on the safe side, it's generally recommended to employ the root account only when you really need it and not for tasks that can be done using other accounts. You can use a web-based graphical interface or a Secure Shell console in order to connect to the server and to control it at the root level.
Full Root-level Access in VPS Servers
You will be able to take care of your new VPS servers
at the root level whatever the package that you have picked, as long as the server is ordered with either the cPanel or the DirectAdmin website hosting Control Panel, or without Control Panel at all. In the first case, multiple system settings can be managed via an intuitive web-based interface, whereas in the second, you'll have to make everything using a console, until you decide to set up a Control Panel yourself. Either way, you will have full control over the VPS and any kind of system or custom content on it at all times, that makes this type of website hosting perfect for any application that you cannot run with a shared web hosting account due to the limited level of access - frameworks, VoIP and audio/video streaming software, and so on. The final VPS Control Panel choice is Hepsia, but the root access to your server will be limited.
Full Root-level Access in Dedicated Servers
Each and every dedicated server
that we offer comes with full root-level access, if the server is ordered with no Control Panel, or with cPanel or DirectAdmin. If you want to set up and run heavy, resource-demanding applications and they have special requirements with regard to the server software environment which can't be fulfilled by an ordinary shared website hosting package, our servers will be the best solution. Without Control Panel at hand, you'll be able to access the server and modify its settings and the content that you upload through a console, while with cPanel and DirectAdmin, you'll have a graphical interface to take care of everything related to your online content, as well as most server-side settings. Of course, if you get a dedicated server devoid of Control Panel, you can always set up some third-party software tool manually, as long as it supports the OS that you have chosen at registration. If you select our Hepsia Control Panel from your order page, you'll have restricted root access, yet you'll still be able to do a number of things through a Secure Shell console.
