Six Senses Papagayo Coming to Costa Rica in 2021

Six Senses resorts is opening its first-ever property in Central America. By mid-2021, the resort known for its luxury spa treatments and environmentally friendly approach will open the doors to Six Senses Papagayo in Costa Rica.

Featured at the heart of Six Senses Papagayo is an organic farm for vegetables, herbs and fruits for use in local chefs’ menus and in luxury spa treatments. Guests will be treated to 360-degree sightlines of the Guanacaste archipelago, as this new Six Senses resort will extend from the highest point of the Papagayo Peninsula to a forested beachfront with 41 pool villas.

In total, the Papagayo Peninsula is approximately 2,300 acres with 15 miles of coastline and beaches.

Everything starts with the question of preserving the natural and cultural heritage of Costa Rica while enhancing social and economic benefits.”

The Canyon Group, which has the Amangani resort in Wyoming and the Amangiri resort in Utah to its name, will lead development, bringing on London-based architect John Heah to design Six Senses Papagayo. Heah has designed Aman resorts, Four Seasons hotels in Asia and the Amanera resort in the Dominican Republic, among others.

Additionally, the Canyon Group is also working with the Garnier Group, a renowned Costa Rican development company, to develop Six Senses Papagayo.
