Leaf Cay offers a premium location in the increasingly popular islands of the Exumas. Private Islands Inc.

It wasn’t too long ago that news of Nicolas Cage selling his assets meant that you could buy a full-size dinosaur skull, Action Comics No. 1, pet octopus, or a Lamborghini that once belonged to the late shah of Iran. But the eccentric A-list actor also accumulated quite the real estate portfolio, having owned mansions in Newport Beach, Newport (Rhode Island), New Orleans, and Las Vegas, as well as two castles in Europe and another in Los Angeles, of which it was rumored the Con Air star lined the walls with purple velvet.

Perhaps the least unusual of his properties, or at least most alluring, is the 30-acre Leaf Cay, located in the Exumas, Bahamas. Much to the delight of anyone who has dreamed of leaving city life behind for good, this private island is now for sale, listed with Private Islands, Inc. for $7.5 million.

The owners and guests will enjoy access to three beautiful beaches. Private Islands Inc.

This island is highlighted by three beaches and a small pond that could serve as a private harbor, seeing as this is a boater’s paradise. The destination is a favorite for sport fishing, which means that Leaf Cay, with its development approvals for five cottages, could make an ideal vacation home for adventurous travelers, with the option to serve as a rental for small group getaways as well.

Location is the key to it all, though, as Leaf Cay is a hop, skip, and a jump to the north of Great Exuma, which means guests can easily fly from South Florida to Exuma International Airport, or possibly Lee Stocking Airport (depending on the level of desired exclusivity). This island is also just south of Bock Cay, which has been rumored to be the eventual home of a massive $75 million luxury development that will also include a presumably amazing 18-hole golf course.

The only thing we don’t know about Leaf Cay is whether or not Cage hid any treasure maps there. So, pack a shovel.
