If there’s one thing that Banyan Tree Mayakoba does well, it is making wonderful things with mezcal. To be fair, though, this Mexican resort excels at so many things, but there were myriad moments during my recent visit for the Thai Food Festival that I made mental and physical notes to shower the food and beverage team members with praise for basically everything they do. It just so happens that my personal favorite was the delicious Mezcalita cocktail.
I got to thinking about this perfect concoction again because National Mezcal Day is right around the corner (October 21, so mark your calendars) and I wouldn’t be doing my job if I didn’t share it with the rest of the world. The only catch? You have to promise to visit Banyan Tree Mayakoba for yourselves. I can’t see if you’re nodding or not, so I will assume you are.
The resort uses Ojo de Tigre mezcal in this cocktail, but I recommend experimenting with other labels, because you know what you love more than anyone. Salud.
